APPROACH
We live in a region with a wide range of distinctive architectural styles, creating the perfect setting for our custom home designs. Our work is characterized by intriguing and modern design, with projects throughout the Bay Area, particularly in San Francisco, Marin County, and the East Bay.
In contrast to many custom home builders, AT6 has the unique distinction of pairing a full-service architecture firm with an in-house construction company. While the inherent efficiency of both disciplines under one roof working with a common purpose is widely seen as a successful approach for residential remodels, it is also a winning choice for building memorable custom homes.
AT6 offers both the full capabilities of an architecture firm and the convenience of one design build team to bring your project to fruition. You don’t have to deal with separate architects and contractors with different motivations—our architects and builders are co-workers with a shared goal: creating your dream home.
Since constructability is always at the forefront as we design, our process includes value engineering—figuring out ways to build the design for less money—as an integral part of the process, rather than something you do only if your completed design ends up over budget. Any issues are discussed as they come up and we help find solutions to keep costs where they should be.
We leverage our longstanding experience with our subcontractors, fabricators, and vendors to ask questions and get feedback about custom solutions from the very people who will be supplying them and building them (and pricing them, more importantly!). Architects don’t have these relationships, so they are at a disadvantage in understanding the budget impact of their design solutions.
